Ships

dsc 0123-border - foto's picture push

The given picture shows a ship nearing the harbor. Harbor is s place where ships load and unloads its cargoes. It’s the solid earth. A ship begins and ends its journey from a harbor.
In ancient days ships were the only mode of transportation from one part of the world to another.

Even nowadays after the invention of aircrafts ships are widely in use for transporting heavy goods even cars are shifted on ships. The merchants use ships to transport their goods or raw materials which they either import or export from different countries.

Countries which have a coastline keep naval forces to protect their coastal regions and resist foreign attacks. The integral part of navy is that they maintain warships. The warships are special kinds of ships which are armed.

Passenger ships have become an article of luxury. These are known as cruise ships, they have everything on board form shopping malls, cinema houses to swimming pools. They are designed in such a fashion keeping the comfort of the customers especially in long distance.

Inspite of ships providing such luxury and comfort they are least favorite with the people especially because the long time it takes to travel distances which could covered in a very short time in airplanes and also no one likes the perils of the sea.

Broken Tower

The picture somewhat gives the idea of a tower adjacent to a building in its ruins. The tower seems to be more of a minaret which means it had got Muslim architecture. A tower is mostly British in style.

The gate behind the tall structure seems to serve as the entrance to some place. The structure behind the minaret is arch shaped testifying to its Mohammedan origin because such kind of Architecture is unique to the Muslims.

The gateway seems to be very old as it shows off its dilapidated condition. Comparatively the minaret seems to be new as it is not broken in several places like the gate behind.

Its interesting to note the there are birds perched on the minaret and from the look of the birds it seems they are the kind which reside near water bodies and live on small water animals and fishes. This is an indication of a water body or a river nearby.

“What is this life full of care? We have no time to stand and stare.”

When man made himself the supreme creature on this planet god probably gave him a curse called greed and unsatisfaction. The more easy man tried to make his life, the more complicated it became. And the more he tried to advance, the less time he had for leisure – something which is directly connected with happiness.

Man may have reduced his dependence on nature but the fact still remains that nature is bigger than us all. And try as he may man cannot escape being happy in the company of a truly exquisite piece of nature maybe because he will remain a part of nature as long as he exists. The snap shows a lush green hill slope, broken by isolated old style buildings and the hamlets at the foot of the hill. The greenery is genuinely refreshing and the change over from natural green to man made steel and concrete is almost dramatic. A feeling of being in a medieval era hill fort or castle, with the associated feel of being in power and of being in control of everything that is visible, immediately strikes the mind. All in the entire picture is not only refreshing but also flattering as it makes one feel omnipotent.

Artists are ordinary people who see the world from an extraordinary point of view. Simple things invisible or regarded useless by common men and women are priceless to them. Though their perspective seems useless from the monetary point of view it is this special vision that builds stunners like the Buckingham Palace or paints a Mona Lisa. With the importance of aesthetics increasing with every passing day and the branch itself being formally attached to many companies, especially with automobiles, the argument of non viability of the artistic vision has lost weight.

The snap shows a brownish-blackish tea cup shaped rock container placed under a spout, like the one on a roof for draining water. The texture of the assembly is like the hand operated stone flour grinders used until early 20th century. The light which falls on this piece partially and obliquely illuminates it lightly and creates an impression reminiscent of dawn. The picture bears some resemblance to snapshots of historic artifacts shown in text books. The texture and the feeling of dawn make the mind take a step back in time when the sun is about to rise – that life is about to start again – but at the same time the stillness gives an impression that time has stood still.

The picture shows a lighthouse near the sea on the coast. The lighthouse in the picture like any other light house has a small room at the top.

Lighthouses were built to aid ships and also pilot age at sea. It can be said to be a tall tower like structure and it is generally used to send out light signals from lamps and passing them through lenses. In earlier times fire was used in place of electric lamps. These were built mostly in places were there was a dangerous coastline below the water surface.

New age lighthouses are solar powered and has a non rotating flashing light situated on a steel tower. The single flash light became a problem later on with the navigators hence a new system of lights were developed later on known as range lights which consists of two lights , thus serves as better aid to navigators.

Lighthouses are often used as a symbol by various agencies. It id a well known fact that marriage encounter uses a lighthouse as its symbol.

Some kind of rooms can be seen in the background, it can be quarters provided for the lighthouse keepers. Lighthouse keepers were appointed in those times when automated

Red, Hot and Shining

Hard to believe that this is a vintage car? Definitely well maintained by the owner it’s what can be referred to as the ‘bold and the beautiful’. Painted a dazzling red and the fender all polished and shining, this vintage car can put all the modern day cars to shame. The owners pride, the car not only makes a great collector’s choice but if well maintained can be used like any other modern day car.

Owner’s who own this striking beauty definitely love to show it off and that is why every year we have vintage car rallies in different parts of the world. More and more people are now investing in vintage cars. Though not technically advanced yet people old and young alike love to own them. True to the saying that old are gold, vintage cars come at quite pretty price as they are the exotic collector’s delight. But how much ever they might cost, their exquisiteness cannot be compared to mere money, they are worth much beyond their price.
